Remembering Anne McCaffrey:
1926-2011
On
Monday, November 21, Anne McCaffrey sadly passed away at her home in
Ireland. Best known for her Dragonriders of Pern series, McCaffrey
was the first to cross many bridges for women writing SFF, and she
will be sorely missed. Amongst the outpouring of sympathy from fans
all over the world, artist Michael Whelan shares the importance of
Anne McCaffrey's inspiration to him, which led to the iconic book
covers he designed for her novels.
